This painting represents all the hurtles our people have faced and we’re still standing to this day! We not only survived but our people are thriving, we’re sending messages that are finally being heard! We will not stand back and let history repeat itself. The pink/dark red in the background represents all the trauma that happened to our people from the massacre to the brutality that continues today towards our people. But the families above them represents the strength our people have to continue to survive but also THRIVE! It represents the fact that our people are taking a stand towards racism and the government system for the deaths in custody, yet not one conviction.
